Dunnellon is a town in Marion County, FL, west of Ocala, and north of Homosassa with a population of around 2050 residents

For a small city, Dunnellon has 3 golf courses – not a bad number for an avid golfer.

While 2 of these are public courses, 1 is a semi-private one.

Dunnellon has a warm, temperate climate typical of the region, with good precipitation and year-round playability.

Juliette Falls Golf Club

Juliette Falls is an 18-hole par 72 semi-private course built in 2007 and designed by John Sanford.

It is rated one of the top courses in Florida by major golf magazines, and true to its rating, the course is also rated very high by the majority who had played at this course.

Unlike the flat lies that you would encounter in most Florida courses, there is some rolingness and elevation change to the terrain that can make it a bit challenging.

The course is plush with foliage and vegetation comprising of pines, oaks, and magnolias and along with the well-maintained fairways and greens make it a very inviting place to be.

The course measures 7236 yards from the back tees with a slope of 143 and a rating of 75.4.

The course has a driving range with a pitching and chipping area for honing your short game.

Membership options are available with a ‘resident’ membership package.

There is also a play & stay option where you can stay in one of the home properties of the course.

Dunnellon has two public courses

Rainbow’s End Golf Club

Rainbow’s End Golf Club is a 9-hole par 36 public course built in 1965 and was ranked the #3 9-hole golf course in Florida by Golf Digest.

The course lies adjacent to the Rainbow Springs State Park and is a few minutes away from the Marion County Airport.

The course is beautiful and well maintained but has fewer trees than Juliette, so it could get a bit rough during the summer heat.

It’s a fun course for people looking for a short game.

The longest tees have a length of 2884 yards with a slope of 107 and a rating of 33.7.

The course has a 12-person driving range with chipping and putting areas and also provides golfing lessons.

The facility also has a clubhouse and a pro shop.

The rates in winter start at $18 for 9 holes with cart to $25 for 18 holes with cart.

Annual membership plans are available if you wish to become a member.

The Preserve Golf Club

The Preserve Golf Club is the third one in Dunnellon which is an 18-hole par-71 built in 1997 and designed by Terry Doss.

The course is surrounded by a state park.

It’s a challenging course with tree-lined fairways in the front nine and a more forgiving back nine with sloping putting greens.

The back tees measure 6540 yards with a slope of 131 and a rating of 70.9.

The course has a driving range with pitching and chipping area and putting green.

The facility has a golf program for newbies, a private lesson program as well as web sessions.

The rates start at $30 for 18 holes with cart and $19 for 9 holes with cart.

Annual Single and Family membership plans are available.

The club also has a bar & grill for soothing your tummy’s tantrums.
