The Golden Gate Golf Course is situated in the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. The Golden Gate Park is spread over 1000 acres and is the third most visited park in the United States.
The course is just one aspect of the park that has several attractions to it including a disc golf course.
This rectangular park sits bang in the middle of the city with the golf course at the western tip, closer to the ocean.
The course is a 9-hole par-3 course with all the holes being par-3.
The facility is open year-round for golfing.

Golden Gate Golf Course was built in the year 1951 and designed by Jack Flemings and is part of San Francisco Parks & Recreation.
It’s also a First Tee facility that aims to nurture young talent.

The course is charming with Cypress trees lining the fairway and is serene too. You’d be hardpressed to believe that this green idyllic setting is right in the midst of the city. The course is well maintained and is a quick getaway for the city-weary citizens.
The ground is also close to the ocean and you can catch a glimpse of the gleaming waters through the trees on some holes.
The course is small but has some elevation changes and undulations to it on some holes. Otherwise, it’s flat. The fairways are narrow and there could be trees that may play spoilsport if you don’t place the shots properly.
Every hole is a par-3 and the longest is only 194 yards and even a toddler can have fun on this course. A great place to work on the short game for experienced players.
As you’d have guessed, you may not require the services of your driver. In fact, this would be a good place to swing your irons.
This is a course for beginners, seniors, and people who are short on time and want a quick round of golf.
You’d be able to finish it in 1.5 hours unless it gets crowded. Remember, you are right in the middle of San Fransisco.
A cute little course for you and your friends to hit some balls, drink some beers, enjoy the scenery, chill out and be merry.

Layout
Driving Range
The facility at Golden Gate has a small driving range where you hit into the nets. There is also a putting green for short-game practice.
Dress Code
Proper golf attire is not required at Golden Gate. Metal spikes are not allowed on the course.
Sharing of equipment is not allowed. All golfers should use their own equipment.
Membership Cost/Price
This is a daily-fee course and no membership options or yearly passes are available.
Restaurant – Menu
The bar and grill at the Golden Gate Clubhouse serve snacks and beverages.
Pro Shop
The facility doesn’t have a pro shop, however, has PGA instructors available for golf lessons.
Tee Times
The tee time hours are between 7:30 AM for the morning sessions and the last one at 4:00 PM with a total of 33 slots available. Tee times can be reserved on the course’s website.
