Golf Courses Dade City FL (All Public & Private)

Dade City, which lies northeast of Tampa and north of Zephyrhills, is the seat of Pasco County.

This is a small city with an area of just 6.3 sq mi but has 5 golf courses within its boundaries including one of the must-play courses in the Tampa area.

Two of the courses are public, two semi-private, and one is a resort-type course.

Dade city border wilderness preserves and state parks, but some of the courses here have a non-Florida feel to it with rolling hills and undulating terrains.

It’s a beautiful city and if you happen to be in the area for business or fun, do not miss out on playing these courses, with Lake Jovita – a must-play.

Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club – North and South Course – Semi-Private

Two beautiful courses that are within this club with rolling hills and wooded fairways trick you into believing that you are not in Florida if you didn’t know you were in Florida.

The rolling hills and elevation changes are quite unnatural for Florida and make for fascinating must-play courses.

South Course

The South Course is the oldest of the two, was built in 1999 and designed by Tom Lehman.

An 18-hole par-72 with a rating of 74.2 and a slope of 135.

One of the best courses in mid-west Florida, the South Course has a great layout with wide fairways and greens that are undulating and fast.

Water bodies in the form of ponds and lakes, elevation changes, and measuring 7153 yards from the back tees, make this a challenging course.

North Course

Another great course, the North course was built in 2002 and designed by Kurt Sandness.

An 18-hole par-72 with a course rating of 74.8 and a slope of 139.

This one’s even hillier than the South Course with undulations and elevation changes that provide great scenic views, with the second tee having 5-mile visibility on a clear day.

Like the South, the North also has a great layout with wide fairways and even faster-rolling greens. Slightly longer at 7226 yards, this course is also an equally challenging one.

The facility has a driving range, putting greens as well as pitching and chipping area for short-game practice.

The green fees range from $70 to $40 depending on the time of the day.

The club offers many types of memberships, with 3 just for golf – Full, Single, and Junior.

Scotland Yards Golf Course

Scotland Yards Golf Course – Public

This is a links-style golf course that purports to provide a classic Scottish-style experience to golfers in the Florida midwest.

The course is an 18-hole, par-72 with a USGA rating of 71.6 and a slope of 120.

Being a links-style course, the topography mostly consists of soft-rolling hills with very little water.

This is quite unusual for Florida, and especially for an area like Dade City which sits amid swampy preserves.

A fun course to play with lots of bunkers and undulating greens that require accuracy.

Measuring 6661 yards from the back tees, and with 4 sets of tees, this course can pose challenges to both the novice and seasoned golfer.

The facility has a driving range with a pitching and chipping area.

The green fees are $28 for 18 holes and $16 for 9 holes for morning tee times and $24 and $16 respectively after 2 PM.

There are 3 types of membership options available with each one having additional options for ‘singles’ and ‘families.’

A bar and grill are available for post-game snacks.
