Silverado Golf And Country Club – Semi-Private

The course at Silverado was built in 1986 and was designed by Bob Simmons. This is an 18-hole par-71 course with a USGA rating of 70.2 and a srdlope of 119.

The course is dotted with the native Florida flora and fauna with plenty of wildlife like cranes, hawks, geese, etc that can be spotted during a round of golf.

Another feature is the many 100-year oak trees that line the fairways and other parts of the facility that gives the course a serene feeling.

The course is beautiful and has a nice layout with undulating greens that roll true.

The fairways are decently wide with numerous bunkers and occasional water hazards that make it challenging, but overall this is a playable course for all levels with 4 sets of tees.

Measuring 6671 yards from the back tees, this is a course that doesn’t wear you out either.

Practice facilities include a grass driving range, chipping and pitching areas, as well as a 3000 sq ft putting green.

The club also has a pro golf shop and a bar and grill for post-game nourishment.

Golf lessons are available from a PGA instructor.

The green fees start at $40 for a morning tee time with cart that reduces to $25 for afternoon sessions. A 9-hole option for those who are short on time is available for $20 which is a standard rate all through the day.

Measuring only 4890 yards, this is a very small course compared to today’s standards and is perfect for seniors and beginners – with not too many bunkers and water hazards either.

However, the course is challenging with tight fairways and accuracy is important to stay in the game.

The facility has a driving range, a putting green, and a restaurant.

Golf lessons and clinics are available from a PGA instructor.

The green fees for the public, between Jan 1 and April 15, are $34 for a morning tee time for 18 holes that tapers down to $26 for afternoon sessions. For the rest of the year, the rates average around $25 and $20 respectively.

This course is designed and owned by Dean Refram, who was also the previous owner and designer of the Saddlebrook Resort, at the nearby Wesley Chapel.

This is a short course though, measuring 6484 yards in length with 18 holes and playing to par 71 with a rating of 70.7 and slope of 125.

Although the course is small, there are some tricky holes with several doglegs that can make this course a challenging one.

The course has a nice layout with wide fairways that are wooded with tall pines and some water and bunkers. The 4 sets of tees, however, provide enough opportunities to test the skills of both the beginners as well as advanced golfers.

There are six par-4’s that play more than 400 yards that can make the course feel longer than it is.

There is no driving range or golf instructors, however, the property has two practice chipping and putting greens for short-game warmups.

A fully stocked golf shop and a grill are available in the facility.

Green fees – for weekdays – are $23.50 for early morning tee times that tapers down to $19 for twilight sessions. For weekends, the rates are $33 and $19 respectively.

Membership plans are available for both Single as well as Family requirements.

The course is easy and fun to play with hardly any sand traps or water hazards.
