Hog Neck Golf Course is situated to the north of Easton, in Talbot County, Maryland, minutes away from the city center.
Hog Neck has two courses – an 18-hole regulation course and a 9-hole executive course. This is also one of the two golf courses in the Easton area, the other one being a private course.
The course is accessible from Ocean City in an hour and 30 minutes, Washington DC is an hour and 18 minutes away, while Baltimore is a little over an hour and 10 minutes. The Easton Airport is just minutes away and the course sits right next to route 50 making it easily accessible for out-of-towners.
The facility is open for play throughout the year except for January.

Both the 18 and 9-hole executive courses at Hog Neck were built in 1976 and designed by Lindsay Ervin.

Hog Neck is a beautiful public course with nice scenery all around. The facility sits amidst a wooded area and is also a habitat for wildlife.
The grounds are flat, straight, and long for the most part, however, you’ll encounter some mild elevation changes and raised greens throughout.
The course can get wet and muddy sometimes, especially after rain, as drainage is an issue in these parts, especially on the back 9’s.
The front 9’s are relatively open and wide with sparse trees and are susceptible to strong gusts while the back 9’s meander through the woods and has tight fairways and close in.
The back is more challenging than the front due to this reason where strategic shot placement is required.
Good shots are rewarded while the errant ones are penalized as the roughs are fairly thick and tall.
Water comes into play on a lot of holes, especially on the front.
Trees, especially the tall loblolly pines that are native to the east coast that dot the course also pose hazards on certain holes. The course is also dotted with a fair amount of sand traps.
This is a course where you can expect two distinct sets of 9’s each having its own character and plot. The front 9’s resembles a links course whereas the back has more of a parkland vibe to it.
Measuring 7100 yards from the back tees, this course runs long. However, with 5 sets of tees, this can be fun and challenging for golfers at all levels.

Hog Neck Driving Range
Hog Neck has a driving range with both grass and mat-hitting areas for swing practice. Also, has a large putting and chipping area with a bunker for the short-game practice.
