Los Amigos Golf Course (Scorecard | Rates)
An oasis of green in a jungle of concrete is how you’d feel if you were to view the satellite imagery of this golf course. Los Amigos is one of the two golf courses in the Downey area of Los Angeles.
Situated in the heart of LA, this golf course is easily accessible from all corners of the city, the only caveat here being the traffic.
As this part of the country doesn’t experience cold winters or snow, the playability is year-round.
Los Amigos Golf Downey
Los Amigos Golf Course was built in the year 1966 and was designed by William Bell.

This beautiful course is a respite from the hustle & bustle of city life.
The course has a nice packed layout, making the most out of the available land.
The course also has two lakes that make it a pleasant affair in an otherwise water-scarce city.
However, don’t expect to see the tree-lined fairways of a countryside course either.
The topography is relatively flat with not many elevation changes which makes it a fun course to play.
The fairways are open and the trees are sparse, so you’d be forgiven for the errant shots.
However, the greens are guarded by strategic bunkers that make it more challenging than one would have imagined.
With a few doglegs and water coming into play in some holes on the back nines, this course can equally be fun and challenging.
Not a long course by today’s standards, however, with 4 sets of tees, can test the skills of both the beginner and experienced golfer.

Course Layout
Driving Range
The practice facility at the course includes a driving range with 20 stalls, a chipping area, and two large putting greens for short game practice.
Tee Times
Los Amigos provides tee time hours from 6 AM right up until 6 PM with more than 50-time slots available, accommodating 1-4 players in each slot.
Reservations can be made 9 days in advance.

Dress Code
Shirts must be worn and only soft spikes are allowed.
Membership Cost/Price
Los Amigos is a public course and a private-club kind of membership is not available although one can avail men’s, women’s, and junior club membership with certain types of benefits like reserved tee times, discounts on pro shop, etc. for a reasonable fee.
The yearly fee ranges between $55 and $70.
Restaurant – Menu
The furnished and separate bar and grill serve breakfast, lunch as well as snacks, beverages, and refreshments.
The facilities can host private parties, showers, events, etc.
Pro Shop
The facility has a pro shop. Golf lessons are provided by experienced instructors.
