Nevel Meade Golf Course is situated in Prospect, just outside of northeast Louisville, Kentucky, and is a 27-minute drive from Louisville downtown.
This public course is one of the four in the Prospect area.
The course is two hours drive from Indianapolis, an hour and a half from Cincinnati, and an hour and 24 minutes from Lexington.
The facility is open for play year-round, weather permitting.

Nevel Meade Golf Club was built in 1990 and designed by course architect Steve Smyers.

Nevel Meade Golf Course is modeled on the links courses from Scotland. If not for the fact that there is no beach or shore around, you’d be tricked into believing that this is indeed a links course.
The open grounds without trees, the rolling terrain with mounds and crater-like bunkers, and the tall heather grass are all evocative of a links course.
And, as you can imagine, this is a beautiful course with scenic backdrops. Although the grounds themselves are devoid of trees, the fairways are pretty, and the course is bordered by thickly wooded areas with wildlife with a serene vibe to them.
The course has been featured consecutively from 2017 until now in the Top Courses In Kentucky list and is on par with the private country clubs in the region.
The grounds can be challenging but not overly penal. The fairways are wide and open. There are no water hazards except on one hole.
The challenges come in the form of undulations and mounds, strategic bunkers, the tall grass of the rough, wind due to treeless fairways, and several blind shots because of the change in elevation.
As long as the ball is kept on the fairways, one should be able to put up a decent score on the board.
The course measures 6840 yards from the tips and is a mid-length course. This is a course that can test the skills of experienced golfers. However, with 5 sets of tees available, can be fun and challenging for players at all levels.

Driving Range
Nevel Meade has a full-service driving range for long-game practice as well as a practice putting green and chipping area for the short game.

Restaurant – Menu
Snacks are available at the eatery. No adult beverages are available at the facility due to the course’s policy. However, customers can bring their own.
The clubhouse has an outdoor pavilion and gazebo that can host events and gatherings.
Pro Shop
The golf shop at Nevel Meade is top-notch and stocks all major golf equipment and apparel brands.
PGA professional is on hand for golf lessons for adults as well as juniors including individual instructions and packages.
Tee Times
Nevel Meade is open for golf year-round. The tee time hours are from dawn to dusk. For reservations, you may visit the course’s website.
