The golf course at Rocky Bayou Country Club is a 115-acre championship property built in 1973 and originally designed by Bill Amick. The course underwent a renovation in 2003 by Earl Stone.
This is an 18 hole par 72 course with a slope of 133 and a rating of 73.
The course measures 6900 yards from the longest tees and is dotted with oak trees throughout with five lakes that are spring-fed making this a beautiful course to play on.
The fairways are wide and are known to be challenging yet forgiving; well-maintained and in good condition.
It also has some accolades under its belt as being ranked one of the top courses in Florida.
The course is also known for its pace of play even during busy days.
The rates start at $18 for a 9-hole afternoon session to $40 for an 18-hole morning session.
The membership plans range from Social to Platinum family. The club also has a Junior Golf membership program and also hosts various junior golf activities to promote the next generation of golfers.
The club also has a men’s and ladies’ golf association that is actively involved in promoting the course activities, projects, and fellowship and also hosts tournaments throughout the year.
The club also has a driving range with a pitching and chipping area with a putting green.
Proper golf attire is required with metal spikes prohibited.

Bluewater Bay Golf Club
Bluewater Bay Golf Club is the second of the private Niceville golf courses.
This is an 18 hole par 72 course with a slope of 141 and a USGA rating of 71.8.
The course was built in 1981 and was designed by Tom Fazio.
Perched along the picturesque Choctawhatchee Bay, some holes have views across the bay.
The course measures 6550 yards from the back tees.
The green fee rates start at $29 for an 18-hole afternoon session to $55 for a morning session.
Membership plans range from Social to ‘Full’ membership with single and family options.
The club has a driving range with putting green.
Soft spikes are allowed and proper golf attire is required.
Eglin Golf Course – Falcon & Eagle
The Eglin Golf Course consists of two courses – Falcon & Eagle – that encompass 450 acres of land with 250 of them taken up by fairways and greens.
Eglin Falcon and eagle are 18 holes par 72 military courses.
Falcon measures 6567 yards from the back tees with a slope of 137 and a rating of 72.9.
Eagle measures 6864 yards with a slope of 140 and a rating of 73.0.
These courses are ranked 3rd overall of all US military courses.
Unlike Florida courses that have flat lies, these courses have a lot of elevation changes that make these challenging courses to play.
A notable feature is that the facility is Audubon certified – a program that helps golf courses with environmental and nature protection and helps minimize the negative impact of course operations.
The facility has a driving range with putting green and a pitching/chipping area.
These courses are not available for the public unless you are associated with the military or are a guest of the military.
