Ocean Acres Golf Course (Scorecard | Rates)

Ocean Acres Golf Course is part of the Ocean Acres township community in Manahawkin, in the south of New Jersey, and is enveloped by state forests and wildlife preserves on all sides.

The golf course lies 53 miles to the east of Philadelphia and 38 miles to the north of Atlantic City. It’s also one of the very few golf courses in the region.

This part of New Jersey experiences subtropical weather that can get hot and humid during summers and cool winters. The golf season here is year-round, weather permitting.

Ocean Acres Golf Country Club 

The Ocean Acres Golf Course was built in 1967 and was designed by Hal Purdy. A semi-private course; the public has access to the course with the daily-fee system without needing to be a member.

The course has an interesting Z-shaped layout with the back nines detached from the front. The island green at the 10th resembles that of the 17th at TPC Sawgrass.

The course is beautiful with wooded fairways and views of the water adding to the ‘scenery.’ If you are someone looking to putt some balls in a picturesque course, then Ocean Acres is for you.

A challenging course, the course kicks off with a double dogleg par-5 on the first. Most of the fairways are lined with trees and are tight, especially at the back nines. So accuracy is rewarded more than distance. And it’s especially true with a lot of holes that are doglegs.

However, with 4 sets of tees, this course can be fun and challenging for golfers at all skill levels.

There is no driving range in the facility. However, a short-game practice green is available.

The club needs to be contacted either by phone or in-person for tee time reservations.

Ocean Acres Golf Course is also a participant in the Victory Golf Pass discount program, where several golf clubs across the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware are also participants.

Pass holders are eligible for discounts in all the golf facilities that are participating in the program.
