Nestled amongst the farmlands of Michigan and sitting just outside of Midland is the Sandy Ridge Golf Course.
The course is 16 minutes from Midland city center and 2 hours from Detroit.
This public course is one of the three courses in the area.
The course is generally closed from November through to March end.
Sandy Ridge Golf Course Midland, MI
Sandy Ridge Golf Course was built in 1965 and designed by Bruce and Jerry Matthews.
The front 9’s were built in 1963 and the back 9’s were added later in 1965.

The course is wooded on certain parts and most of the fairways are tree-lined.
A lot of wild birds and animals call this course their habitat.
You’d even get to spot deer, foxes, and even peacocks.
This is a functional golf course with a basic layout intended for the average golfer.
The fairways are pretty straight with not many hazards, although water is a feature on some.
The terrain is also flat with not many undulations or elevation changes. The greens are contoured to give it some character – sloping and mounds.
As long as you play straight and get the ball on the fairways, reaching greens wouldn’t be much of an issue.
Measuring 6400 yards from the back tees, this is not particularly a lengthy course by today’s standards.
With 3 sets of tees and with a healthy mix of par 4’s, 5’s, and 3’s, this course can be challenging as well as fun for both beginner and mature players.

Driving Range
The facility has a driving range for long-game practice as well as a putting green for the short game.
Dress Code
Shirt needs to be worn at all times. Jeans are allowed on the course. Soft spikes are allowed.
