Colonie Golf Course is situated in Colonie, New York, wedged between Schenectady on the north and Albany to the south.
The course is almost equidistant from both these cities and can be reached within 15 and 20 minutes respectively.

The first 9 holes at Colonie were built in 1969 and the subsequent ones were added in 1981 and 1997.
The course was designed by a team of course architects that include the famed Robert Trent Jones, Sr., Bob Mitchell, Rick Jacobson, and Roger Rulewich.

Colonie Golf Course is a massive property with four 9-hole courses. The first two 9-holes were built in 1969 and the rest were added subsequently to address the growing golfing population in the area.
The course is beautifully tucked away in a wooded area. The fiery autumnal trees that line the fairways are a treat for the eyes.
The fairways play long and fairly wide. There aren’t many hazards to contend with. However, the doglegs on a couple of holes and the elevation changes along with the raised greens can trip one up, but otherwise, it’s an easy course.
This is a municipal course and is built to cater to players at all skill levels.
Even though all are only 9 holes in each course, there is a fairly good mix of par 3’s, 4’s, and 5’s in each of them.
The course also hosts over 80 tournaments of various sizes every year.
With each course measuring roughly 3400 yards on average from the back tees, and with 3 sets of tees available, players with skills ranging from beginner to advanced will find this course to be fun and challenging.

Layout
Driving Range
Colonie has a driving range for long-game practice that consists of 15-20 grass-hitting stations.
Putting green and chipping areas are also available for short-game practice.
Dress Code
Golf attire is not required. Metal spikes are not allowed on the course.

Colonie is a municipal daily-fee course and no membership options are available. However, golf permits can be obtained that provide for discounted green fees.

There is no golf shop at the facility.
The course conducts various clinics and programs for kids and adults at all levels. The golf lessons are provided by professional instructors.
