Woodlands Golf Course is a municipal course whose name is equated with high-end golf courses. It has awesome grounds as well as facilities to go with it.
The course has won accolades – the biggest one being the Golf Digest’s Four Star Places to Play Award.
The course is beautiful, to say the least, and is tucked away cozily right next to a state park.
One moment you are tackling the hustle and bustle of the city life, and in the next, you are
transported to a surrounding that is tranquil and gels with nature.
The course comes alive in the Fall when the hardwood autumnal trees turn the course into a melange of fiery hues.
Woodlands is well maintained for a public course.
This course also shares the facility with the Diamond Ridge Golf Course, which is also part of Baltimore County Golf.
This is a challenging course with blind tee shots, elevation changes, and long fairways.
For a beginner, the neighboring Diamond Ridge would be a better option to get started and then graduate to Woodlands.
The course has a nice layout with long par 4’s and par 5’s and large-sized undulating greens. Accuracy is rewarded here and creative shot-making gives you an advantage as all the holes are varied.
You’ll also get to use every club in the bag.
The course measures a little over 7000 yards from the tips making it a fairly lengthy course.
However, with 5 sets of tees available, anyone can find this course to be fun and challenging, provided you pick the right set of tee for the skill level.
