Gross National Golf Course (Scorecard | Rates)
Gross National Golf Course sits in the heart of Minneapolis. This 150-acre facility is situated right next to the interstate 35W freeway and is easily accessible by road.
The region experiences hot humid summers and cold snowy winters and the golf course is generally closed for play during the colder months.
Francis A. Gross Golf Club
The Gross Golf Course is one of the five 18-hole golf courses that are part of the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board.
The course was built in the year 1925 and was named after Francis A. Gross who was a park commissioner.

It’s a beautiful course with mature trees that dot the fairways which makes one wonder whether the facility is in the countryside or inside a city.
The facility is a Certified Audobon Cooperative Sanctuary – awarded to courses that protect and conserve the natural aspects and characteristics of the land.
The course is characterized by mild undulations with elevated tees and greens.
This is not a particularly challenging course. There are certain holes that are long and as long as you hit straight you wouldn’t have any issues.
Although there is water present, it doesn’t really come into play.
With 4 sets of tees, this course can be fun for golfers at all skill levels.

Course Layout
Driving Range
The course has a driving range that is open from 6 AM until 8 PM except on Wednesdays and Thursdays where the operating hours are between 6 AM and 6 PM and 7 AM and 8 PM, respectively.
There are 18 practice stations ranging from 50 to 200 yards. A practice green is also available for short game activities.
Tee Times
Open hours are from daily sunrise to sunset. The tee time hours start at 7 AM for the morning sessions with the last one at 4 PM for the twilight ones.
The golf course is generally closed from November until March.
Please check with the course before planning an outing.
Dress Code
Shirt and shoes must be worn at all times. Metal spikes are not allowed.

Being a public course, season passes and players’ cards are available for discounted/flexible pricing options.
Players’ card is valid at all the 18-hole golf facilities under the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board.

Pro Shop
Pro shop is at hand for golf equipment and accessories at the clubhouse.
PGA professionals are available for private and group lessons for golfers at all skill levels as well as for juniors and seniors.
