Grantwood Golf Course (Scorecard | Rates)
Grantwood Golf Course is situated on the outskirts of Cleveland, in Solon, Ohio.
This municipal course is one of the two golf courses in the Solon area.
The course is a 30-minute drive from downtown Cleveland and 37 minutes from Akron.
The golf season here is year-round, weather permitting.

Grantwood Golf Course was built in 1909 and designed by Grant Wilson and Chris Denning.
The course was also rated as one of the top five courses to play in Cleveland under $50.

The facility abuts a nature park and is surrounded by verdant greenery on all sides.
Although the area is thickly wooded, the course in itself is sparse.
The course is relatively flat although there are some mild undulations.
Fairways are straight, open, and forgiving on the front 9’s, however, can get tight on the back.
The consensus is that as long as you can keep the ball on the fairways, you are gonna be fine, as the roughs can be penal.
Water comes into play on some holes, and there are a couple of doglegs with blind shots to the green.
The strategically placed bunkers – which there are plenty of – require some good shot placement. The back 9’s are more challenging than the front.
Unlike municipal courses that are built for fast play and cater to the average golfer, this is a bit more challenging, but not so much that only experienced players find this course to be fun.
The course measures a tad over 6400 yards from the back tees and is not particularly long.
There are a couple of shots that play over 500 yards, but the rest are mostly in the 300-yard range.
And with 6 sets of tees including two sets of family tees, this can be a fun and challenging course for golfers at all skill levels.

Grantwood Driving Range
The facility has 15 covered-and-heated driving range stations for year-round long-game practice. Practice putting green is also on hand for the short game.
Dress Code
Golf attire is required at the facility. Athletic shoes and shirts are a must.

Restaurant – Menu
The dining facility at the Grantwood course offers breakfast and lunch as well as beverages.
The clubhouse also has a banquet and outdoor pavilion that can host a gathering of up to 200 people.
Pro Shop
The pro golf shop at Grantwood stocks a variety of golf equipment and apparel.
The course also has a golf academy that provides golf lessons, clinics as well as camps by professional instructors.
