Helfrich Golf Course lies to the west of Evansville in Vanderburgh County, Indiana.
This is one of the three municipal courses that come under city management.
The course is very much part of the city and is just 8 minutes away from the center.
The facility is open year-round for golfing.

Helfrich Golf Course was built in the year 1923 and designed by course architect Tom Bendelow.

The first thing that catches the eye of this course is the rolling, hilly terrain. That gives a hint of what challenges lie ahead. The course is considered to be one of the most challenging ones in the area.
However, all those undulations make for beautiful scenery. The course is pretty and decently maintained for a municipal course.
The fairways are wide and there aren’t too many hazards – that kinda makes up for all the hilliness. However, the trees that line the fairways can play spoilsport.
Expect to use every club in your bag. Water comes into play in a couple of holes.
At 6300 yards, the course is not lengthy but can be quite challenging, but with the 4 sets of tees available, you might be able to tamp it down a bit for your skill level.
The one aspect of this course is that you’d feel like coming back again to break your score.

Driving Range
The facility doesn’t have a driving range, however, does have pitching and putting green for short-game practice.
Course Tee Times
The course is open from dawn to dusk. For booking tee time hours you may contact the course’s website.

There are no membership options at Helfrich. The course however provides options for yearly passes.
