Situated on the northwest part of Lincoln, Nebraska, is the municipal Mahoney Golf Course.
This is one of the 5 courses that are part of Lincoln city courses, including Pioneers and Holmes Golf Course. The course is also just 50 minutes away from Omaha.
The facility is open for play throughout the year from dawn to dusk, weather permitting.

Mahoney Golf Course was built in 1976 and designed by Floyd Farley.

The course is pretty. Although not wooded, some trees line the fairways and there are two lakes in the middle of the course that adds a bit of charm as well as tranquility to the course.
Like most municipal courses, this course is made for fun, fast play. The layout is pretty straightforward with wide fairways and not many hazards.
As long as you keep the ball on the fairway and hit long, you should end up with a pretty decent score. However, the greens are sloped and so can be deceiving.
There are 6 par-3’s that can make it a bit challenging, however, the course is forgiving, overall.
This is a good course for beginners to intermediate players.
Measuring 6459 yards from the back tees, this is not a lengthy course either and with a square layout, wouldn’t beat you up by the time you reach the 18th.
There are 4 sets of tees to choose from that can make this course challenging for players at all skill levels.

Course Layout
Driving Range
The facility has a large 25-station driving range that measures 260 yards for swing practice. There are also practice greens for pitching, chipping, and putting as well as a bunker for the short game practice.

Mahoney Course Tee Times
The tee times are 6 AM to sunset during summer months and 8 AM to dusk during winter months.
Roughly 70 slots are available on any given day.
