Long Run Golf Course (Scorecard | Rates)
Long Run Golf Course sits on the eastern outskirts of Louisville, 27 minutes from the city center.
This municipal course is also one of the 10 courses that are managed by the city.
The course is 1 hour 30 minutes from Cincinnati and a little over an hour from Lexington.
The facility is open for golfing year-round, weather permitting.

The course has a nice layout and routing and is pretty much flat with hardly any undulations or marked elevation changes, although you may encounter some mounds and elevated greens.
It’s also thickly wooded on certain sections with even a lake abutting it.
The front-9 fairways are wide and open with trees lining them with the back 9’s tightening up.
Like a lot of municipal courses, Long Run is built for the average golfer. Don’t expect championship-level grounds here. It’s a good course for beginners and people who want to shore up their skills.
The course plays long and straight with not too many hazards, although water is present in some of the holes. You may find yourself in a tough spot if you hit it out of the fairways, but not overtly penal either.
The front 9’s are easy and will set you up for the challenging back 9’s, and
the treelines could block some shots if not positioned correctly.
Measuring almost 7000 yards from the back tees, this is a lengthy course with four holes measuring more than 500 yards and two double dogleg par 5’s. But with 5 sets of tees, this can be a fun and challenging course for golfers at all skill levels.

Layout
Driving Range
The grounds have a newly refurbished driving range measuring 250 yards for the long game and putting and pitching greens for the short-game practice.
Dress Code
Metal spikes are not allowed on the course.

Pro Shop
There is no golf shop at Long Run nor is there any professional instructor available for golf lessons.
