Fort Walton Beach Golf Courses FL (Public & Private With Details)

The beach resort of Fort Walton Beach in northwestern Florida has two courses of its own, the Oaks and Pines, both of the Ft. Walton Beach Golf Club.

Ft Walton Beach lies a stone’s throw away from Destin – known for its stunning world-class golf courses.

FWB has a warm and temperate climate, just like its neighboring cities, making it a year-round
golfing destination. The Destin FWB airport is just minutes away.

Both the courses in FWB are public, municipal courses.

There are no private or semi-private courses in FWB.

So, the next time you find yourself in the area, drop in for a round and putt a slice off of these two courses.

Fort Walton Beach Municipal/Public Golf Courses

The Golf Club at FWB hosts two public/municipal golf courses – the Oaks and Pines.

Both courses are known to be value for money, with well-maintained fairways and greens; for a city-owned course.

Unlike a lot of courses in and around FWB, these two courses do not have views of the bay which probably is the only drawback.

The club has a Junior program with free clinics every summer.

The club also has a full-service restaurant that caters to both the courses as well as a golf shop.

Oaks At Ft. Walton Beach Golf Club

The first one, The Oaks, is an 18 hole par 72 course built in 1962 and designed by Bill Amick.

Although it’s a public course, the course is well-maintained with a nice layout and on par with any semi-private course.

The fairways on Oaks are lined with oak trees and are narrower compared to Pines, and have more water hazards.

The greens are known to be a bit slow, and the fairways can be unforgiving if you miss it.

The course measures 6400 yards from the back tees with a slope of 116 and a rating of 70.2

The course has a driving range with a putting green and pitching/chipping area.

The course rates for nonmembers are $29 for 18 holes for a morning tee time with an option for 9 holes at $18 for a full cart.

There are annual membership options available for City residents as well as for County residents.

Special junior rates are also available.

Proper golf attire is required and metal spikes are allowed.

Like its sister, the course has a nice layout with well-maintained fairways and greens.
